Bringing leadership themes into collaborative action

Our dynamic Leadership Labs are one-day intensives aimed at pinpointing opportunities for impactful leadership in Tasmania, while fostering collective engagement for greater influence. Attendance is by invitation only with our program graduates at the core.

Each Leadership Lab is designed to pinpoint opportunities for impactful leadership in Tasmania, while also contributing to our understanding of where leadership can have the greatest effect on our social and economic wellbeing. Participants will bring their expertise to an informed discussion and workshop, where they can explore new perspectives, develop forward-thinking approaches, and generate innovative solutions with actionable outcomes.

We’re looking to extend and leverage the capacity of this network of change-makers dedicated to enhancing economic, social, and environmental well-being for all Tasmanians.

2025 Dialogue Leadership Lab

One of the most timely and challenging topics in Tasmanian leadership today – dialogue.

Facilitated by Kym Goodes, Director 3P Advisory and supported by the University of Tasmania Policy Exchange, Tasmanian Leaders Network members joined us for a Leadership Lab exploring the art of holding conversations in contention – a skill every Tasmanian leader needs in today’s climate of polarisation and complexity. Together, we examined how dialogue operates in our tightly woven state, how it can both support and suppress progress, and how leaders can create space for more effective, inclusive, and courageous conversations. **Report coming soon**

2024 Complexity in Tasmania

Making sense of complexity in our state and identifying the leadership skills required to navigate it.

Complexity scientist Dr. Aiden M. A. Thornton worked with us to understand how complexity appears in our organisations, communities, and social networks. Together, we identified the most beneficial skills for understanding and leading through complexity. Insights have informed our program designs, and serve to help others navigate complex situations by providing them with a framework and tools.

2024 Building Belonging

Actively exploring how fostering a sense of belonging can help organisations, teams, and communities thrive.

Examining how fostering a sense of belonging can help organisations, teams, and communities thrive. This Lab focused on identifying the ways we are connected as leaders across Tasmania and the key behaviours and skills that help us feel that we belong. Co-facilitated with Dr. Joseph Crawford, the lab informed research on key leadership actions to support belonging in our communities and workplaces. The outcome is 2025's Building Belonging report - actionable research to help us support better belonging in our various roles.
