Coming Soon: A new leadership program on leading through complexity in Tasmania

Building on insights from Leading in Complexity: An Initial Enquiry in Tasmania by Dr Aiden M. A. Thornton, we’re developing a new leadership program specifically designed to strengthen the 14 complexity leadership skills identified in the report.

This five-part online program will explore the foundational, relational, and systemic skills needed to lead effectively in Tasmania’s increasingly interconnected and fast-changing environment. It will be facilitated by Angela Driver, CEO of Tasmanian Leaders, who brings deep expertise in adaptive leadership, systems thinking, and the design of transformative learning experiences.

We’ll kick things off with two initial online sessions that offer a taste of what’s to come, drawing on the earlier work undertaken through our Complexity Leadership Lab and Skills Survey.

Full program details will be released soon, but if you’re interested in being part of this next chapter in leadership development, or simply curious to learn more, you can express your interest today.

Angela has completed the Art and Practice of Adaptive Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School of Executive Education in Boston and holds a Brain-Based Coaching certificate from the NeuroLeadership Institute. Endlessly curious, she is passionate about designing immersive leadership development experiences that challenge thinking, spark new ideas, and empower people to navigate complexity.

“I was fortunate to participate in a session on leading through complexity and change delivered by Angela Driver and Katy Cooper in 2024. I greatly appreciated their engaging manner and for sharing their considerable knowledge and experience. I took away many valuable insights to apply in my leadership role.” – Ian Dunbabin, TasWater CDO Alliance Program Manager, CPB Contractors

“Katy and Angela take a systemic approach to understanding the complexities of the world today. Through supporting us to understand the systems and structural issues underpinning observable phenomena, they gave me new tools to create strategic interventions. Additionally, these facilitators see the importance of transforming our own personal perspectives and approaches before we seek to undertake organisational and social change.” – Bronwyn Tilbury, Director, Community Services Development, Tasmanian Council of Social Service
