New to Tasmania or returning home? Connect with local networks, to settle and succeed.

Whether you’re new to Tasmania or returning home, Connect can help you find your feet, create supportive and influential local networks, and navigate your way to business and personal success.

This unique one-day experience will run only once in 2025, in Hobart on Thursday 18 September.

Why Connect?

Relocating can be costly and stressful. Whether you’re starting fresh, trading big-city life for something different, or relocating for work, Connect is designed to help you settle smoothly and succeed confidently – for yourself, your family, and your organisation.

We know that Tasmania can be a hard place to break into. While it’s known for its beauty and lifestyle, forging meaningful connections and finding your place professionally can take time. That’s why Connect exists — to fast-track your sense of belonging and help you make the most of your move.

Previous programs have run to rave reviews, with participants consistently saying it gave them clarity, confidence, and community. Tasmanian Leaders wants to help skilled people not just move here but stay – because Tasmania needs the talent and energy you bring.

What’s involved?

Connect is a one-day program held in Hobart, designed to spark insight, build connections, and fast-track your success in Tasmania. You’ll hear from inspiring speakers and engage in sessions on Tasmania’s unique identity, our history, exploring future opportunities and how to succeed in Tasmania.

The experience is interactive and conversation driven. While the day is structured around guest speakers and presentations, connection is at its core. You’ll meet a diverse group of influential Tasmanians, including others who have made the move themselves, sharing knowledge and introductions to help you feel at home and hit the ground running.

An evening gathering rounds out the day, giving you the chance to deepen new relationships over great Tasmanian food and wine. It’s a relaxed space for meaningful dialogue and informal Q&A about what life in Tasmania could look like for you.

Session highlights include:

  • Understanding Tasmanian history and the enduring legacy of First Nations people. This session helps ground your journey in truth and connection to place.
  • Seeing Tasmania as a place of meaning and meaningful work. Explore opportunities to build a life and career with purpose.
  • Learning how to connect, settle and succeed in Tasmania. Understand how to navigate a state that is often friendly but not always easy to break into.
  • Becoming a constructive disruptor. Learn how to challenge systems and spark change without creating division.
